New live broadcast equipment
CMG is introducing new special live broadcast equipment in the form of a mechanical lift tower.
Compared with the previous manually-operated equipment, the new device can transcend space limitations and provide panoramic footage during the event's opening ceremony.
Guo Yang, a senior engineer with the CMG Technology Support Department for broadcast, said that "the system features smooth automated operations and a stronger tripod head to carry more weight, which will allow camera operators to cover what they actually see."

'5G+4K/8K+AI' approach
CMG is also following a "5G+4K/8K+AI" approach allowing richer live reports characterized by visual arts and high-end technologies.
To meet the needs of different terminals, news programs will be collected in 4K and other multi-format standards. With the support of ultra-high-definition and 5G technology, CMG will provide all-round and multidimensional support for CIIE reports.

CMG reporters will be equipped with portable live broadcast 5G backpacks, which enable fast transmission speeds and can take high-quality pictures. The real-time shooting content can be delivered to the post-production team in only 0.5 seconds.
The devices will break through the limitations of time and space, ensuring the stability of news reports and achieving full coverage of multiple news application scenarios.
Du Shuhua, a senior engineer with the CMG Network Operation Department, said that "we adopted a large number of 5G backpacks. We do not need to lay cables in advance, and we can transfer more footage with better quality."
