Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that he and President Vladimir Putin have agreed to send Russian grain to food-insecure African countries for free under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

"In our phone call, Putin said 'Let's send this grain to countries such as Djibouti, Somalia and Sudan for free' and we agreed," Erdogan said in a speech to business leaders in Istanbul.
