Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech via video at the opening ceremony of the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE) and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum on Friday in Shanghai.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, stressed that China is ready to work with all countries to practice true multilateralism, build more consensus for openness, and jointly overcome the difficulties and challenges faced by global economic development, so that the openness can provide a new bright future for global development.
