As a key player in import and export worldwide, China's future engagement in building a more inclusive trade pattern will be critical, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director-general of the World Trade Organization (WTO) said on Friday. Speaking via video at the expo's opening ceremony, Okonjo-Iweala said China, which ranks among the top exporters and importers in the world, has been a contributor to the maintenance and prosperity of the WTO with its crucial efforts to deliver multilateral documents.
