A welcome ceremony for the first China-Europe freight train on a timetable to arrive in Duisburg was held on Monday in Germany. The opening of the first timetable train between China and Europe will increase the transportation efficiency while strengthening the competitiveness of the cross-border cargo train in the international market.
Earlier, when China-Europe trains passed through different countries, the local railway department had to set the running time according to the actual traffic on the ground, which was easily causing multiple delays enroute, and making it difficult to realize a fixed arrival and departure time for the whole journey. After the timetable China-Europe freight trains started running, the schedules of each section of the domestic and foreign railway trains is linked throughout the whole journey, and the arrival and departure time is being clarified, which helps control the operation time of each link and manages a smooth handover over every section.
