On the afternoon of November 6, the high-level ministerial segment of COP14 concluded in Wuhan and the "Wuhan Declaration" was officially released, calling on every contracting party to promote the protection, restoration, management and wise use of all types of wetlands.
A major achievement from the meeting, the Wuhan Declaration endeavors to mobilize more resources to strengthen the implementation of the 4th Ramsar Strategic Plan, while setting the ambitious 5th Ramsar Strategic Plan for impactful actions towards 2030.
Mr. Tan Guangming, vice director of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration introduced concrete measures that China will take to strengthen wetland protection according to the declaration.

Musonda Mumba, secretary-general of the Ramsar Convention made a video speech saying the "Wuhan Declaration" stresses the wise utilization of wetland resources to tackle climate change.
