Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev met with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Wednesday in Tehran, according to Russia's Interfax news agency.
Raisi and Patrushev discussed "various issues of Russian-Iranian cooperation in the field of security, as well as a number of international problems", the report said.
Patrushev earlier in the day held consultations with his Iranian counterpart Ali Shamkhani, discussing the situation in Ukraine and measures to combat "Western interference in both countries' internal affairs," according to TASS news agency.
"Iran supports any initiative leading to a ceasefire and peace between Russia and Ukraine based on dialogue," Shamkhani was quoted as saying by the official Iranian news agency IRNA.
