The Nuba people of Sudan have been wrestling for centuries. The purpose of Nuba wrestling is to celebrate a group identity and show the power of young men. Every Friday, wrestlers of all Nuba nations gather together to promote their personal pride and that of their community. Away from their homeland, the game is what brings all people together.
