China's automobile exports keep rising and have hit 337,000 units in October, a year-on-year increase of 46 percent, industry data showed Thursday.

Among the exports were 109,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs), a surge of 120 percent over the previous month, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. The numbers of exported vehicles exceeded 300,000 units for the first time in August.

The output of NEVs in China reached 762,000 units last month, up 87.6 percent year on year. Sales of NEVs rose 81.7 percent from a year earlier to 714,000 units.

From January to October, both NEV output and sales expanded 110 percent over last year, with the market share of such vehicles hitting 24 percent, the association said.

Total automobile output reached 22.24 million units in the first 10 months of this year, up 7.9 percent compared to the same period last year. Automobile sales totaled 21.98 million units, up 4.6 percent.

Major economic indicators of the automobile industry continue to improve, which will help the auto market achieve stable growth for the whole year, the association said.
