China is set to launch yet another solid rocket: the Smart Dragon Three. It's a four-stage solid-propellant vehicle designed to launch commercial satellites into orbit. According to Liu Bing, a chief design engineer at the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp, demand for access to space is "very high". Solid-fuel rockets have a shorter window of preparation and can facilitate more launches on demand.
