China and Cambodia agreed to sign new action plans to promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields, on the basis of implementing the Action Plan 2019-2023 on Building China-Cambodia Community of Shared Future, said a joint communique issued on Friday.
The joint communique was released during the visit of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to Cambodia from Tuesday to Friday, before he attends a series of leaders' meetings on East Asia cooperation.
The two sides agreed that accelerating the building of the China-Cambodia community with a shared future serves the common desire and fundamental interests of the two peoples, and is beneficial to the region's peace, stability and development.
According to the communique, the two armies will play their roles in exchanges and cooperation mechanism and strengthen communication at all levels. China and Cambodia will deepen practical cooperation in the fields of joint exercise and training, equipment technology, medical services, staff training and multilateral security.
The two countries will speed up effective synergy in development strategies and jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative with high quality.
China will enhance cooperation in clean energy with Cambodia, and support Cambodia to develop green economy to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction.
Giving full play to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA), the two countries will carry out trade promotion activities, aimed at promoting more Cambodian products of quality to enter the Chinese market.
China will further expand the import of the Cambodian agricultural products and offer intellectual, financial and technical support for Cambodia to develop modern agriculture.
The communique said China will enhance cooperation in science, education, culture, health and tourism with Cambodia, support Cambodia on carrying out Chinese teaching to promote the collaboration on digital transformation of education.
Cambodia supports and actively participates in the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative proposed by China, and will be committed to the implementation of the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and work with China to join in the global security governance, aimed at achieving common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security.
Emphasizing on upholding true multilateralism, both sides will promote democracy in international relations, and safeguard its principles and global justice and fairness.
The two countries will carry out exchanges and cooperation in human rights issues on the basis of equality and mutual respect, and oppose to politicalizing human rights issues.
Both sides will strengthen coordination and cooperation in multilateral frameworks such as the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation and the China-ASEAN economic cooperation, so as to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

On Friday, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni at the Royal Palace.
As good friends, brothers and partners, Li said China and Cambodia have always respected each other, treated each other as equals and supported each other on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns.
China is willing to provide assistance within its capacity to Cambodia's economic development and people's livelihood improvement, as well as maintain close high-level exchanges and deepen mutual trust and cooperation, Li said.
Premier Li said his visit to Cambodia has achieved sound results, which is conducive to promoting the sustainable and stable development of relations between China and ASEAN.
For his part, Sihamoni thanked China's all-round support for Cambodia and help for safeguarding peace and achieving solidarity and development.
Cambodia firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and stands ready to work with China to further consolidate and deepen the mutual friendship, so as to push for new results in bilateral cooperation, Sihamoni said.
