EU and 6 countries issue joint declaration on reducing greenhouse gas emissions

The United States, the European Union, Japan, Canada, Norway, Singapore and the United Kingdom issued a joint statement addressing climate and energy security and calling for global action, the U.S. State Department said on Friday.

"We affirm the need to accelerate global transitions to clean energy, recognizing that reliance on unabated fossil fuels leaves us vulnerable to market volatility and geopolitical challenges," the statement read.
