Mass interprofessional strikes hit several French cities as multiple unions seek pay increases. Demonstrations also took place across the country as the unions sought to fill the streets in a show of force to press their demands amid soaring energy prices and rising inflation. The strikers' actions severely disrupted traffic, causing the closure of over 30 subway stations in Paris. Buses and metro railways, among other public transportation services, were also affected. The wave of national strikes began in October.
