China launched a new satellite Yunhai-3 for environmental monitoring on Saturday.
The satellite, atop a Long March-6A carrier rocket, lifted off at 6:52 a.m. from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province and successfully entered the pre-set orbit.

The satellite will be used for atmospheric, maritime and space environment monitoring, disaster prevention and mitigation, and scientific experiments.
It was the 448th launch for the Long March carrier rocket series.
