A new regulation designed to protect cultural heritage along Beijing's Central Axis has taken effect, marking one more step ahead to becoming a World Heritage Site. The Central Axis has been changing but also preserving its old flavor. Pigeons, a lively sight in Beijing and a fascinating cultural feature along the axis, are expected to preserve the integrity and authenticity of the Central Axis.
