Italy's PM Giorgia Meloni has slammed the French government's reaction to the Ocean Viking migrant ship as "unjustified", and called for a common European policy to defend borders. Meloni said Italy has been the gate of Europe for migrants and asylum seekers and the country has already taken in almost 90,000 migrants since the beginning of this year.
