Six people were killed after two vintage planes collided on Saturday in mid-air during an air show in Dallas, Texas, officials said.

"According to our Dallas County Medical Examiner, there are a total of six fatalities from yesterday's Wings over Dallas air show incident," Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins tweeted on Sunday. He said authorities are continuing to work to identify the victims.

A Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bomber and a Bell P-63 Kingcobra fighter collided and crashed at the Wings Over Dallas Airshow at Dallas Executive Airport at 1:20 p.m. CST (1820 GMT), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) earlier said in a statement.
