ASEAN fruits gain popularity in China

With ASEAN's status as China's largest trading partner, the region's exported fruits have gained significant popularity in the Chinese market.

According to China's General Administration of Customs, China’s imports of fresh fruits and nuts in 2021 were worth about $15.2 billion, and those from Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia and Cambodia accounted for more than 60 percent.

Among the ten ASEAN countries, Thailand has the highest value of fruits sales to China, with the durians, bananas and mangosteens ranked as the most popular ASEAN fruits domestically.
