In July 2022, during Indonesian President Joko Widodo's visit to China, both sides renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Jointly Promoting Cooperation within the framework of the Global Maritime Fulcrum Vision (GMF) and the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
Both sides have committed to the completion of the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway on schedule as a flagship project, and to work on more strategic projects such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor and the "Two Countries, Twin Parks." In 2018, China and Indonesia agreed to synergize the GMF and the Belt and Road Initiative through the signing of an MOU.
