China made clear its plan to adhere to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence as a leading fixture of its foreign policy back in 1953. Beijing has proposed two more major initiatives over the past two years: the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative. Professor Wang Yiwei from Renmin University of China says both initiatives are people-centered.
