A least 21 Palestinians were killed, including seven children, and more than 30 others were injured on Thursday in a massive fire inside a residential building in the northern Gaza Strip, said security and medical sources.
Some of the injured are in serious condition and the death toll is expected to rise following the blaze in the Tel Al-Zaatar area of the Jabalia refugee camp, according to the director of the Indonesian Hospital that received the victims.
The Palestinian Civil Defense has sent rescue teams and security personnel to the scene, and the Ministry of Interior added that preliminary investigations indicated that a large quantity of fuel stored inside the building might have led to the fire.
