Youth challenges developed countries on their climate goals
07:54

As the two-week UN Climate Change Conference COP27 draws to a close in Egypt, we spoke to a youth representative about his highlights and whether youths feel world leaders have done enough to restore our shared planet. Although speaking up and voicing our concerns are important, Samson Cheng, GAUC Global Youth Ambassador and Tsinghua University student, believes in "action speaks louder", especially collective and responsible actions by developed countries to achieve net-zero well before 2050 and not merely by 2050. Samson would also like to see his hometown, Macao, together with Hong Kong and Taiwan, contribute to the motherland and explore synergistic solutions towards China's net-zero future.
