Bosten Lake is located in the Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is the region's largest lake and one of the largest inland freshwater lakes in the country. During the early winter, the reed marsh and azure water create stunning scenery. In recent years, local authorities have launched a series of measures to enhance the protection of the lake's wetland, creating a better habitat for migratory birds.
