Having served as the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782, the Grand Palace in Bangkok ranks among the most popular tourist attractions in Thailand. Housing a comprehensive collection of Thai art, this famous palace complex showcases the essence of Thai architecture, painting, sculpture and decorative art. Composed of numerous buildings, halls and pavilions, it is divided into several quarters: the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Outer Court, the Middle Court, the Inner Court and the Siwalai Gardens.
