China won the men's team sprint gold at the second leg of Speed Skating World Cup in Heerenveen, the Netherlands on Sunday.
Composed of Yang Tao, Lian Ziwen and Ning Zhongyan, Team China won the race in one minute and 19.55 seconds, 0.27 seconds faster than the hosts, Team Netherlands, who were then followed by Team USA who finished 0.08 seconds later.
In the women's 3,000m race, home favorite Irene Schouten set a new track record of 3:54.04 to win the title. She also took gold in the mass start event earlier on Friday. China's Youth Olympic champion Yang Binyu finished 15th in her Division A debut with a personal best of 4:08.51.
In the men's 1,500m race, Connor Howe from Canada took gold in 1:43.38. China's Ning Zhongyan, who won Friday's 1,000m event, came fifth with a time of 1:43.91.
In the women's 500m event, Kim Min-sun of South Korea won the title in 37.21 seconds.
