China became the world's largest manufacturing country in 2010 and has maintained that position for 12 years since. The value-added output of the manufacturing sector surged from 16.98 trillion yuan in 2012 to 31.4 trillion yuan in 2021. China accounted for 30 percent of global manufacturing output in 2021, marking an increase from 22.5 percent in 2012.
