England, which usually began slow at the FIFA World Cup, began the 2022 tournament in Qatar with a 6-2 win over Iran on Monday. The bus Iran parked in front of their goal didn't stop the "Three Lions" which exploited well their free kicks and had more players than expected involved in the scoring feast.

The Netherlands, in a fast and physical contest against Senegal, claimed a valuable 2-0 win thanks to two sharp counterattacks. In many possessions, Senegal even outmatched the Netherlands, but they just couldn't put the ball into the net without Sadio Mane.

Wales almost became the only European team that lost on Monday, but Gareth Bale helped save them by scoring that penalty against USA. Though he didn't get many chances to even touch the ball thanks to USA's defensive efforts, Bale, like a star he still is, only needed one moment to make his contributions.
