The tournament's official mascot may be born in the Middle East, but the family of souvenirs grew up in the southern Chinese industrial town of Dongguan. Business owner Chen Leigang said his team beat at least 30 suppliers worldwide to win the coveted contract. It's a must-needed victory for exporters that have seen orders dwindle amid rising costs for labor, raw materials and international freight.
