In the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China's largest open-pit coal mine is seeing changes to adapt for the future. It's as big as 7,000 soccer fields and operates 24-7, producing 100,000 tons of coal every day. That meets the annual electricity demands of some half a million households.
