Long COVID is worsening the labor shortage in the U.S. and the UK. According to a report released in August by the Washington-based Brookings Institution, around 16 million working-age Americans have long COVID. As many as four million of them are out of work due to long COVID. In the UK, 2.1 million people suffer from long COVID.
