The import and export of China's international trade in goods and services totaled 3.85 trillion yuan ($539.6 billion) in October, climbing five percent year-on-year, data released Friday by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange showed.

In October, the export of goods reached 1.92 trillion yuan and the imports were 1.51 trillion yuan, leading to a surplus of 408.8 billion yuan.

Meanwhile, the services exports last month hit 180.6 billion yuan and services imports were 237.3 billion yuan, resulting in a trade deficit of 56.7 billion yuan.

According to the official data, transportation services logged 159.9 billion yuan in trade volume, the biggest among major items. The export and import of other business services, travel services as well as telecommunications, computer and information services registered 74.4 billion yuan, 65.8 billion yuan and 47.2 billion yuan, respectively.
