Yellow River's Hukou Waterfall appears clearer in N China
00:48

Northern China's Hukou Waterfall, the world's largest yellow waterfall, has become clearer in Jixian County, Shanxi Province. This is caused by the reduced flow of the Yellow River, where the water volume is now around 300 cubic meters per second, only 15 to 20 percent of its peak. That means a calmer environment which allows the "yellow" sediment to fall to the riverbed, making the waterfall look much clearer.
