Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday held talks with Mongolian Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg in Beijing and vowed to enhance cooperation between the two countries in areas including economy, trade and infrastructure.

Wang said China and Mongolia are good neighbors and partners, and the China-Mongolia relationship has maintained strong growth momentum in recent years, which is in the interests of both countries and has provided stability to the volatile world.

He highlighted President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsuh's immediate visit to China after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China as ample proof of deep mutual trust between the two sides and their high-level comprehensive strategic partnership.

He said China will take this visit as an opportunity to implement the important consensuses reached by the two leaders, further strengthen the exchanges in governance, collaborate in achieving development, rejuvenation and modernization, and progress toward a community with a shared destiny for China and Mongolia.

He also appreciated the Mongolian side to pursue a friendly policy towards China, adding that China is willing to work with Mongolia to firmly support each other in safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests.

The bilateral cooperation is full of potential and ushers in comprehensive development opportunities, Wang noted, stressing China is ready to enhance cooperation with Mongolia in fields ranging from economy, trade, minerals, customs, infrastructure, desertification control, to people's livelihood, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

Battsetseg expressed willingness to coordinate with China on international stage, promote key projects on construction and connectivity and push the relationship between the two countries to a new level.

Battsetseg is accompanying the Mongolian president on a two-day state visit to China that started on Sunday.
