When Lionel Messi missed that penalty kick in the first half against Poland, Argentina were only two steps away from being knocked out from the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Fortunately for them, Alexis Mac Allister and Julian Alvarez stood out to save the day.

In the other game of Group C, though Mexico beat Saudi Arabia, the one goal they conceded during the stoppage time ended their knockout qualification streak in the tournament.

France, which already booked their spot in the Round of 16, were not motivated to play Tunisia with full lineup or strength, which partly explained the result of the game.

However, the fact that Tunisia scored first against France made Australia have to chase a win instead of a draw against Denmark. Veteran Mathew Leckie made sure with a goal that the Socceroos didn't leave the World Cup with regret.
