Guangzhou has lifted closures in most districts as health authorities pledged a more "timely, efficient and precise" effort to manage COVID-19. Haizhu in the city's south is the epicenter of the latest outbreak that started in late October, thought to have spread among several communities of migrant workers. Thousands of residents stuck here are being relocated in an ongoing evacuation effort. They will board trains heading home - or to their new jobs. Some told CGTN they would come back after the Chinese New Year.
