Ice floes delayed in Yellow River due to warm temperatures
00:45

This winter's first ice floes appeared in a section of the Yellow River, marking the start of the freezing of the country's second-longest river. The average mid-November temperature at the four stations in the Ningxia-Inner Mongolia river section was 2.6 to 3.9 degrees Celsius higher than in previous years, causing ice to form nine days later. The ice floe density continues to increase due to the cold air, and the relevant provinces, regions and units of the Yellow River Conservancy Commission have launched operations to prevent ice jams.
