Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov blamed NATO for the escalation of tensions in eastern Europe, saying that the alliance has trampled on red lines for the Russian Federation. He noted that from 16 member states in 1991, the bloc had grown to 30, three of them being former Soviet Union states.
