The official account of the Iranian Embassy in China shared a post on Weibo quoting a poem by Li Bai after Iran's 0-1 loss to the United States at the Qatar World Cup on Tuesday.
"Hard is the way, hard is the way. Don't go astray! Whither today? A time will come to ride the wind and cleave the waves; I'll set my cloud-like sail to cross the sea which raves."
These lines expressed Li's disappointment with the "difficult road" in the world. Meanwhile, with a positive attitude, Li believed his time would finally come shortly, letting him move forward like a brave sailor.
With this poem, the Iranian Embassy in China expressed Iran's positive attitude towards football and a deep understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
