A magnitude-6.4 earthquake struck the Java island, Indonesia, on Saturday afternoon, at a depth of 118 kilometers, according to the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG).

There is no tsunami alert, said the BMKG, and it advised residents to watch out for possible aftershocks.

At least one person was injured and was taken to hospital, the country's national disaster mitigation agency, BNPB, said, adding that several houses and one school were damaged, Metro TV reported.

The death toll from the earthquake that hit Java island last month hit 334, the local authority said on Saturday.

However, the two earthquakes are not related, said the BMKG.
