A no-load test run took place on the first undersea subway line in northeast China, Dalian Metro Line 5, on Thursday. The new line, which has a total length of about 24.5 kilometers and runs under Dalian Bay, part of the Yellow Sea, reduces travel time from north to south Dalian from nearly two hours to 40 minutes. After the comprehensive test, initial passenger services are scheduled to start before April 2023.
