Two children were seriously injured in a knife attack near an elementary school in southern Germany, local media Bild reported on Monday.
The attack, happened in Illerkirchberg, a town in the district of Alb-Donau in Baden-Württemberg in Germany, saw an unknown man attacked the two primary school children on their way to school.
The two school girls, aged 13 and 14 were taken to hospital by eyewitnesses with serious wounds.
According to Bild, the police later arrested the attacker in a building where he or she fled to.
It's not yet known what's the motive and if the attacker knew the two girls.
German police also confirmed that two girls were injured but did not immediately provide further details on the attack.
