Al Jazeera submits slain Palestinian journalist's case to ICC
CGTN

The Al Jazeera television network submitted the case of its slain journalist Shireen Abu Akleh to the International Criminal Court on Tuesday, saying that she was killed by Israeli forces.

In a statement, Al Jazeera said that it had "unearthed new evidence" on the death of the Palestinian-American, who was shot while covering an Israeli army raid in Jenin in the occupied West Bank on May 11.

The ICC is under no obligation to consider cases submitted by individuals or groups.

Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid later said in response to the appeal that "no one will interrogate Israel Defense Forces soldiers and no one will preach to us about fighting morals, certainly not the Al Jazeera network."
