Hungary vetoed an 18 billion euro ($19 billion) financial package for Ukraine in 2023 from the European Union on Tuesday.

Hungarian Minister of Finance Mihaly Varga confirmed his government's opposition to supporting Ukraine with the loan at an EU economics and finance ministers' meeting in Brussels.

The support package for Ukraine was proposed by the European Commission in early November.
