India will continue to buy oil from Russia in the future for its own energy needs, Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said after talks with his visiting German counterpart Annalena Baerbock. He said the EU had bought much more fossil fuels from Russia than India since the conflict. India is the world's third-largest oil importer, with about 22 percent of its crude imports coming from Russia now. The EU, G7 countries and Australia have imposed a price cap for Russian seaborne oil from December 5.
