According to Renat Karchaa, an adviser to the head of Rosenergoatom, the Russian company that currently operates the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, transferring control of the plant to the IAEA is impossible in principle, RIA reported on Tuesday.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said there is a positive trend in the discussion of ensuring the safety of the plant, and security agreements should include control over their implementation by Ukraine, TASS reported on Tuesday.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs asserted on Monday that control of the plant will not be transferred to any third party.
