Co-organized by China Media Group (CMG) and the Ministry of Media of Saudi Arabia, the 2022 Chinese-Arab Media Cooperation Forum was held successfully on Monday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with more than 150 guests, including government officials, representatives of media organizations and scholars from China and 22 Arab countries, participated in the forum in a combination of online and offline ways.

Dr Majid Al Qasabi, Saudi Arabian Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media, delivered a speech via video, saying that Arab countries see China as a reliable partner in achieving common development in various fields and look forward to strengthening cultural exchanges between both sides through the forum.

Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, addressed the event, saying that CMG will take the forum as an opportunity to deepen communication and strengthen cooperation with all sectors of the Arab community, using the media to enhance mutual support and expand cooperation to jointly build a China-Arab community with a shared future.

CMG and the Saudi Broadcasting Authority launched a co-production program and a broadcasting event of Chinese film and television works in Arab countries at the forum.

As one of the essential outcomes, the forum announced the launch of a joint partnership initiative by CMG and Arab States Broadcasting Union to promote relations between China and Arab countries through the media. It advocated for media organizations in China and Arab countries to strengthen mutual learning and appreciation, uphold their media responsibilities, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and make media contributions to advance the China-Arab strategic partnership.

The 2022 Chinese-Arab Media Cooperation Forum received wide attention from many mainstream media in Arab countries, over 30 of which livestream the forum.
