01:01

A new section of the China-Russia east-route natural gas pipeline was put into operation on December 7, transporting clean energy from Siberia to the Yangtze River Delta and helping ensure energy supply in this economic zone. The 750-km-long section, which links Tai'an City in Shandong and Taixing City in Jiangsu, was completed six months ahead of schedule. The section is part of the 5,111-km-long Chinese section of China-Russia east-route natural gas pipeline which starts in northeastern Chinese city Heihe and terminates in Shanghai. So far, the pipeline has transmitted over 28 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The transmitting capacity of the pipeline will further increase when other sections are completed and put into operation.
