Chinese researchers have developed the world's first deep-sea multi-channel Raman spectroscopy system and built an in-situ unmanned spectroscopy laboratory for deep sea research in an active cold seep area in the South China Sea, the Institute of Oceanology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced on December 5.
