UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres urged immediate efforts to fix the damage and stop the destruction of our planet while making peace with nature, as he addressed the opening ceremony of the second part of the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity in Montreal, Canada on December 6.
In an impassioned speech at the event's opening, Guterres warned that the unchecked pursuit of profits comes at a severe cost and could even threaten humanity's ultimate survival.
