The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between China Media Group (CMG) and the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) was signed during Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Saudi Arabia.
CMG President Shen Haixiong signed the MoU with Saudi Arabia's Acting Minister of Media Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, also the SBA's chairman of the Board of Directors. The document was one of the important bilateral cooperation achievements during President Xi's visit.
In recent years, cooperation between CMG and the SBA has been expanding. To further boost cultural exchanges between two countries, they have agreed to establish a regular cooperation mechanism and carry out extensive cooperation in media program exchange, people-to-people exchanges and experience sharing, so as to consolidate the foundation for bilateral friendship, promote mutual learning between the two civilizations, and elevate China-Saudi Arabia comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.
The SBA is the state media organization of Saudi Arabia, with a number of television and radio channels covering the whole territory of Saudi Arabia and many Arab states.
